Les-Ancizes × SoxCustom
Professional Soccer Team · United Kingdom
Les-Ancizes approached SoxCustom with a clear brief: their players were slipping on wet training pitches, and off-the-shelf grip socks lacked the team identity and color consistency their kit demanded. They needed a fully custom grip sock — team colors baked into the yarn, logo integrated into the silicone grip pattern, and a build durable enough to survive a professional season’s worth of tackles, sprints, and industrial laundry cycles.

The Challenge
Professional football training exposes socks to extreme conditions — mud, rain, repeated high-impact stops, and daily industrial washing. Three specific pain points drove Les-Ancizes to seek a custom manufacturing partner rather than another generic supplier:
- Grip degradation on wet grass. Standard silicone patterns lost adhesion after the first half of training sessions in damp conditions. Players were taping their socks as a workaround — a time-wasting fix no professional squad should need.
- Color bleeding after chlorine wash. The team’s neon orange required precise color matching. Generic dyeing processes faded within weeks, leaving socks that looked mismatched and unprofessional on the pitch.
- Sock slippage inside boots. Without sufficient elastane tension and a properly engineered ribbed cuff, socks bunched down inside the boot during 90-minute sessions — a constant distraction that players flagged to the coaching staff.
The Solution
Color-Fast Neon Orange
Neon team colors are notoriously difficult to lock into cotton yarn — they bleed, fade, and shift hue under UV exposure. SoxCustom applied a reactive dye + double fixation process specifically calibrated for fluorescent shades, ensuring the orange remained identical from Matchday 1 to the final whistle of the season.
Engineered Grip Pattern
Rather than a generic dot matrix, the silicone grip was designed around the “ANCIZES” brand name — the letters themselves form the traction surface. This dual-purpose approach means every time a player looks down, they see their team identity, and every time they plant a foot to change direction, the textured lettering locks onto the insole.
Competition-Grade Cuff Retention
The 5% high-rebound elastane paired with a double-layer ribbed cuff keeps the sock precisely where it should be — mid-calf, no bunching, no distraction. Players reported zero adjustment during full training sessions, a metric the coaching staff had never achieved with previous suppliers.
The Result
- Delivered 1,200 pairs in team-mandated neon orange and navy blue dual colorways
- Players reported measurable improvement in boot traction during wet-weather training — taping stopped entirely
- Zero color fading complaints after a full season of industrial washing
- Team placed a repeat seasonal order within the same year — volume maintained, SKU expanded to include a travel sock variant
“SoxCustom understood what a professional team actually needs — not just a sock with a logo, but a piece of kit that performs under real conditions. Our players noticed the difference in the first session.”
